Tools taking shape: the 5th PIAC(ER)² Project Meeting

On June 25th, 2026, the consortium gathered online for the fifth project meeting, reviewing the progress made on tool development and aligning on the final stretch of the project.

The meeting opened with partner presentations on the progress of the tool development activities, together with preliminary results from the respective case studies. Partners showed how their tools are maturing across the different dimensions of REC management, from sector coupling and multi-energy optimization, to fault diagnostics, optimal sizing under uncertainty, and interoperability between the platform’s components. Distributed forecasting and scheduling approaches were also presented, together with an update on the business model analysis. The exchange offered a valuable opportunity to compare progress across tools and discuss how they will come together within the platform.

The discussion continued with an update on the platform and tools specifications, including the progress of the joint paper currently being developed by the consortium and now entering its revision phase.

The meeting then moved to the dissemination activities, with the coordinator presenting an update on ongoing initiatives and opening the floor to a discussion on the project’s upcoming closing events.

The meeting closed with a coordination session, where the consortium reviewed the discussion and set the agenda for the project’s remaining months, as PIAC(ER)² moves toward the validation of its tools and the definition of its final results.
