Who are we?
LEAP is a research center operating in the energy and environmental sector. It was founded by, and is still associated with, the Polytechnic University of Milan. LEAP’s goals include research, consulting services, and the implementation of technology transfer initiatives for industries and public entities. The center conducts experimental activities, tests on plants and the environment, and organizes training courses and scientific dissemination initiatives.
What are we doing in PIAC(ER)2?
LEAP is responsible for project coordination and dissemination activities, as well as the development of a management tool for Energy Communities featuring distributed optimization. It will also create a forecasting tool for renewable energy production and consumption and work on establishing a solid Business Model for industrial Renewable energy Communities.
Who are we?
The Interdepartmental Center for Energy and Environment (CIDEA) provides operational support to research, development, and demonstration activities on energy and environmental issues, including those related to energy supply, conversion, distribution, and the rational use of energy (from renewable and non-renewable sources to efficient energy use solutions), sustainable management of energy and water resources, and their impacts on the environment and living organisms.
What are we doing in PIAC(ER)2?
CIDEA will be engaged in the development and implementation of mathematical models for the simulation of energy conversion systems and the users involved in the Renewable Energy Communities and the development and implementation of algorithms for the optimized sizing of energy systems.wable energy Communities.
Who are we?
The Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research (CIRI) on Renewable Energy, Environment, Sea, and Energy (FRAME) is a laboratory part of the “Emilia Romagna High TechnologyNetwork”, with the mission of developing and transfering innovative technologies and methods for environmental quality control and the management of natural resources.
What are we doing in PIAC(ER)2?
CIRI-FRAME will focus on developing a computational model aimed at evaluating the technical, economic, and environmental feasibility of integrating a Renewable Energy Community, which is typically characterized by electrical flows only, with additional flows of thermal, refrigeration, and fuel energy, in order to assess the coupling of di erent energy networks.
Who are we?
CROSS-TEC focuses on interoperability and data themes for smart cities, energy communities, and industrial supply chains, high-content 3D design for additive manufacturing, technologies for reducing energy consumption, innovative fuels, big data, and high-performance computing.
What are we doing in PIAC(ER)2?
CROSS-TEC will contribute to defining the requirements for the tools developed by the project, create the data exchange specifications for interoperability between tools, and develop software interfaces for their adoption. These specifications will be integrated into the “Smart City Platform Specification – UrbanDataset” (developed by ENEA as part of the National Electric System Research and expanded over time through other national projects), which will be extended to include Renewable Energy Communities.
Who are we?
IN4 Hub for INnovation in ENgineering and INtegration in INdustry (formerly MechLav) is one of the industrial research laboratories at the Technopole of Ferrara, specializing in the fields of mechatronics and motor engineering, innovation in services, and digitalization with the mission to transfer innovation across all engineering technologies to industry and public administration through tailored collaborations.
What are we doing in PIAC(ER)2?
IN4 will be responsible of developing a tool for monitoring and diagnosing the energy conversion and storage systems of the Renewable Energy Community. This tool will enable the evaluation of the health status indicators based on field measurements, identifying the causes of deviation from expected conditions.
