Empowering Renewable Energy Communities

The PIAC(ER)² project aims to facilitate the development of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) by developing a platform capable of promoting collaboration among citizens, businesses, and local authorities to produce and share clean, sustainable energy. The PIACER platform – output of the project – will support RECs throughout their entire life cycle – from optimal design to efficient management and seamless integration with local energy systems – enhancing their efficiency and resilience.

The PIACER platform will provide a suite of tools specifically designed to address the unique challenges RECs face today, ensuring they function effectively. Simultaneously, it will enable RECs to seize future opportunities, such as offering flexibility services to local energy networks. To achieve this, the platform will prioritize interoperability both within its own ecosystem and with external actors.
